MDS Highlights

Barry Kuban, Director of MDS Electronics Core and Project Staff in BME, was invited to present at two annual conferences in 2017.

He presented at the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs Annual Conference in Chicago in June the following:

  • “Artificial Deep Neural Networks to Estimate Hemodynamic Parameters during Mechanical Circulatory Support without Flow or Pressure Sensors”
  • “Variable-Length Trajectory Sequences and Field-Oriented Control to Efficiently Produce Arbitrary Pulsatile Output on Mechanical Circulatory Support Pumps”

He also presented at the International Society for Mechanical Circulatory Support Annual Meeting in Tucson in October the following:

  • “Progress in the Development of a Continuous Patient Monitor for the Cleveland Clinic Continuous Flow Total Artificial Heart”
  • “Artificial Deep Neural Networks to Estimate Flow During Mechanical Circulatory Support without Flow or Pressure Sensors”
