CoBi Core offers advanced computational modeling for simulation-based medicine; utilizing state-of-the-art approaches among a variety of disciplines: engineering, physiology, and computer science. CoBi Core provides cost-effective and efficient tools and interfaces to support diagnostics, decision-making, treatment and intervention design. Our services include application specific development of models and simulation platforms to complement experimental approaches. Our expertise helps formulation of the biological system to include multiphysics coupling, multilevel interactions among cells, tissues and organs, and to simulate the biomechanical system's response as it interacts with the environment and other physiological systems.  The Core's facilities and expertise can support investigation of problems spanning a variety of physical phenomena, incorporating various computational tools, and informed by the requirements of the clinical field. Specific services include:
Numerical Analysis

  • finite element analysis
  • optimization

Research Support

  • musculoskeletal biomechanics
  • tissue mechanics
  • predictive simulations of musculoskeletal movements
  • quantification of tissue deformations
  • concurrent simulation of multiple pyhsiological domains
